Green Technology
Working with our surroundings is in our nature.
Since earliest times the earth around us has been vital… she powered the mills, fed the stock, watered the crops. Now that the world seeks new ways to work with, not despite, nature… what better place for ideas to begin and flourish than one where the connection to the earth is still strong and all around you?
Dufferin Eco-Energy Park (DEEP)
A major green focus in Dufferin County is DEEP, Dufferin Eco-Energy Park. We are working on alternative fuels. Our vision is the create energy from waste (syn-gas and methane), generate hydrogen and harness the wind for electricity. We have a composting facility and anaerobic digester, a pilot plant for hydrogen production, and windmill locations. There are sites in the park ready for related businesses, labs and greenhouses, and we will attract new and innovative technologies.
