Tourism
In Dufferin, people find escape and plenty to do.
People who live in a crowd may come here on a drive the first time, and come back for the fun of it… to walk among ancient trees or fish in fresh water… to ski across country or downhill… to golf or dine… to celebrate art in all its forms… to pick fresh and choose home made. Year ‘round they come from farther and farther a-field and there’s a vital industry making sure they have a good time.
The air is clean and fresh, the water is cool and clear
We’re an hour or less from urban centres, yet a world apart. The air is clean and fresh, the water is cool and clear, bubbling up from the earth, the forests are deep and quiet. The roots of our nature are obvious and this is what brings people here on their “Sunday Drives”. What brings them back is all the rest that makes this area fun for we who live here. Our restaurants and cozy inns. Spas and B&Bs. Strawberry suppers and country fairs. Arts and crafts. Live theatre and celebrations. So much… but with the growing number of people, there’s room for more.
Right Outside Toronto’s Back Door
When people travel less often to distant ports, they explore more close to home. We’re right outside Toronto’s back door, a stone’s throw from Brampton and Guelph, and we can holler down to Mississauga. All of which means that when people want to go somewhere… Dufferin is the somewhere they like to go.
The Hills of Headwaters
Come and explore the Hills of Headwaters… To get to the Hills and Headwaters, take Highway 9 or Highway 89 west from Highway 400, Highway 410, Airport Road or Highway 10 north from the Toronto area, or Highway 124 east from Guelph. Come and see what more than ten thousand years of water have created.
